Hello Indiana Criminal Lawyers & Judges:

My name is Katherine Zuran and I am the president of Case-A-Day Corporation. Let us help you be the most up to date lawyer in the courthouse - because tomorrow is too late to discover the case that would have helped you today. Over twenty years ago, as a legal intern working for a small firm, I was involved in a personal injury action where the lead attorney was directed out due to a case that hit the advance sheets moments before the start of trial. Shepardizing existing cases did not bring this new case to light. As the saying goes, what you don’t know will hurt you. Had he been aware of the new case, he could have prepared a way around it. Unfortunately, he was blindsided. Don’t let this happen to you. CASE-A-DAY LEGAL™ SUMMARIES will help you take your case in a better direction.

Case-A-Day Corporation is now offering daily e-mail summaries of Indiana criminal cases decided “for publication” by our appellate courts. We do not guarantee one case a day. The goal is to provide a case each day, Monday through Friday, but due to uneven posting by the Indiana appellate courts, there may be days when no summary is provided. Conversely, you may receive more than one summary in any given day. Case-A-Day Corporation does not guarantee next day service. Further, we reserve the right to skip the summary of any “for publication case” that in our view is insignificant. Finally, the summaries are not legal advice, and are only meant to be a starting point for your legal research.

Abraham Lincoln said, “I dare not trust this case on presumptions that this court knows all things. I argued the case on the presumption that the court did not know any thing.” In reference to the best mode of obtaining a thorough knowledge of the law: “The mode is very simple, though laborious and tedious. It is only to get the books, and read and study them carefully . . . Work, work, work, is the main thing.”

We know that to be good lawyers we must stay up to date, yet our advance sheets collect dust in the corner and remain unread. The same thing happens with those monthly summaries that stack up in an unending pile. Updating your understanding of the law should not happen monthly, quarterly, yearly, or even once a week. It should be something you do on a daily basis. For a dollar a day Case-A-Day Corporation will help you stay current on the law. Let us help you be the best lawyer possible.

Sincerely,

Katherine Zuran, President
Case-A-Day Corporation
